“Amcor (www.amcor.com.au) is a leading global packaging manufacturer. Vardum Pty Ltd trading as JEM Business Services is the provider of application development and support for Amcor Australasia's e-Business, supply chain initiative, Integrated Replenishment. Appointed in July 2002, JEM's management and development team have been instrumental in creating a unique B2B supply chain solution for Amcor. In 2005 Amcor purchased an enterprise license for the Deepstream software. Deepstream is aimed at helping the enterprise meet the challenges of collaborating electronically with a large number of trading partners. The Deepstream rollout has been very successful for Amcor to date with over 130 strategic trading partners, each with multiple sites across Australia and New Zealand engaged. From a business perspective Deepstream is a great product to go to market with. It has a number of advantages when compared with other "system integration" products. For starters the business is in control of the technology rollout without being reliant on I.T or system experts. In some cases after a quick phone call to the JEM helpdesk a customer is up and running in less than an hour! This gives us the confidence to develop and manage timelines that consider any constraints our customers may have. An important note is that the team at JEM had a live fully managed hosted system ready for us to use within 2 weeks. Secondly the product is very flexible. We use Deepstream to automate business processes with our enterprise sized customers using industry standards based XML messaging and the latest secure transport methods. We also use it to convert spreadsheets securely uploaded online into orders that go directly into our ERP which eliminates errors and double handling. Most importantly for us, Deepstream is also able to fill the void between full system to system integration and basic web storefront solutions. It allows organisations from SME's to those of significant size to attain a large number of the benefits of process automation with very little additional effort on their behalf. Anyone with basic spreadsheet experience will feel they are an expert user within an hour of use. There is no need for detailed training or documentation, we have in many cases had users competently transacting within minutes of starting. This is also particularly useful for customers that interact infrequently with us as they don’t need to "refresh" each time they do. The Deepstream software provides a unique e-Business solution whilst the JEM team provides a unique set of e-Business skills, all whilst maintaining a business and customer requirements focus; a rare combination indeed. |
