Deepstream: A Success Story
We live in a global village; in order to thrive, organisations will have to embrace change at a faster rate. We don’t fear this; in fact we’re excited, because we know exactly what it takes to succeed in this landscape: Deepstream.

Our History
It begins in 2000.
One of the world’s largest packaging companies undertook a supply chain e-business initiative. The project employed nearly 20 people fulltime, at least 14 of them consultants. The software licensing costs were high. It took the best part of 2 years to deploy the solution to a production environment.
Finally, after all the hard work and expense this blue-chip multinational was due a return from this very significant investment. The top 20 customers were to be integrated first. The supply chain managers and procurement personnel were very positive, easily identifying the benefits. Yet when the discussion moved towards implementation, things became complicated. Not many of the organisation’s trading partners had implemented the same e-business standards; some had no such capability to begin with.
It became clear that integrating with their major trading partners was going to be slower than initially thought; furthermore, it would incur extra resources. A solution was required. Not just for the top 20, but for most of this organisation’s thousands of trading partners.
A successful solution needed the following attributes:
- The solution should be fast to implement.
- The solution should be flexible.
- The solution should not have high upfront costs.
This scenario was the seed for the idea that became Deepstream.
The Innovation
We set to work.
Developing Deepstream was an ambitious undertaking, especially for a small team such as ours. Our advantage is that all our team members are industry experts with a good knowledge of what our customers need.
During our first demonstration in 2005 we put our key functionality on display. We needed to showcase the product’s speed and flexibility. The key points of the demonstration were:
- Deepstream was to twice process a spreadsheet that contained order information.
- The second time, we would modify the spreadsheet so that all the columns were re-arranged.
- This processing was to be performed by Deepstream without any new code, recompilation, or restart.
This was exactly the flexible solution our customer required. Deepstream is successful in these scenarios because it’s built from the ground up to manage change efficiently.
By 2007 Deepstream was running in a production environment in its current form.
During the 2008/09 financial year our team performed over 200 trading partner integrations. This works out to be almost one every working day; impressive figures indeed. Ninety percent of those integrations were performed entirely by our support team, and did not require developer input.
The Present
Deepstream fully supports the order to cash business cycle in all the major e-Business standards. It is a proven way to increase the rate of process automation and trading partner e-Business adoption. It is flexible, fast, and has no high upfront costs.
Our core team has been together since 2002. We are not a software shop, but rather we see ourselves as a group that uses technology to make their customers more efficient. We believe in the power of our product, and its application in manufacturer to manufacturer scenarios. We know Deepstream is a competitive advantage and are always keen to demonstrate its many benefits.
Our developers keep adding functionality that separates us from our competitors. Our customer service team keep finding ways to help our customers win. We believe that Deepstream can help an organisation improve its quality of service, increase efficiency, and become more dynamic.
The Future
Deepstream will evolve to meet the requirements of our customers in a rapidly changing landscape.
Our continuing mission is to provide our customers with a competitive advantage through our skills and experience.
